Medical Financial Assistant (MFA).

Keys Aspects.

  • US-based (required eligibility to work in the US).
  • Facilitate new members signups, profile creations, and initial communications via our EMR.
  • Once profiles are created, ensure all necessary patient information is uploaded, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients.
  • Schedule initial appointments for physicians, nutritionists, and health coaches.
  • Answer and reroute phone calls as applicable.
  • Assist with member care logistics, such as next step guidance for members needing lab draws, certain medications, documentation, etc.
  • Answer any members’ questions that are sent via EMR messaging in a timely fashion (1-2 business days).
  • Assist physician, nutritionist, and health coach team members with any specific clinical needs.
  • Help guide standards and adherence to those standards for the medical assistant team.
  • Represent Index Health well in the local and broader community.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Perform other duties as directed or required.

Experience Details.

  • High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in relevant professional work preferred; functional medicine experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mentality.
  • Ability to communicate (verbal, written) clearly and effectively with patients, and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with good time management skills.
  • Demonstrated history of operating well in a team environment, maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies, with knowledge of patient care procedures.
  • Self-motivated, independent operator with the ability to make decisions with minimal oversight.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Telemedicine experience a plus, with the ability to navigate multiple application and tools to support remote patient care (i.e., Athena (EMR), Active Campaign, Slack,
